Dog medicines and your pet
Dog medicine: the issues

Dog health and dog medicines go hand in hand.  Many dog owners often look for the quick fix when their pet is ill or needs medical treatment.  This is often the easiest and most practical solution for many pet owners.  But is it the most beneficial decision for your pet?

There’s no doubt that veterinary medicine has achieved major advances in pet health during the last 10 years.  From antibiotics, steroids, non-steroidal pain relievers, and other drugs to diagnostic procedures and understanding of disease processes,  medicines for pets have steadily improved and been brought to market.  Similarly,  there has been increased focus and awareness of non prescribed holistic medicinal remedies.

Many dog owners use these holistic alternatives because of the short and long term negative effects that some medicines have on their pets.  Many holistic or non prescribed vitamins or treatments are less costly and less harsh on the dog's internal organs.  In some cases, the improvement is the same or better with the holistic alternative.

Rimadyl is an example of a common prescribed medicine for dog's with joint pain, canine arthritis, canine hip dysplasia, and rheumatoid arthritis.  It has shown to be effective but there some sad stories to tell.   Many dogs have unexpectedly died soon after beginning Rimadyl.   The liver and kidney's are unable to remove the toxicity from their bodies and the dog dies.  This mostly occurs in older dogs but it has happened to dog's as young as 15 months.

Dog medicine: the alternatives

The fact that Rimadyl is expensive and that it works on some dogs and kills other dogs is only part of the picture.  Rimadyl relieves pain and is an anti-inflammatory drug but it does nothing to fix the core problem with your dog.    In other words, Rimadyl relieves the pain but doesn't have a disease modifying effect.   That is where an alternative such as Free & Easy for Dogs can help.  Free and Easy contains natural ingredients to relieve inflammation and help the core problem with your dog.  For example, a key problem in Canine Hip Dysplasia is the lack of synovial fluid.  Synovial fluid helps lubricate the joints and without this lubrication, friction occurs which results in pain and  inflammation.  Free and Easy contains Hyaluronic Acid  which is necessary for the production of healthy synovial (Joint) fluid.  This is only one of the ingredients that Free & Easy uses to help eliminate or modify the disease.   Also important is the quality of the ingredients, not the quantity.  Many manufacturers will skimp on these because of the expense.  An example is Chondroitin.  Chondroitin is taken from cartilage from from 4 major sources: cows, pigs, fish, and chicken.  It is relatively expensive so many manufacturers will compromise on the quality of this supplement.  Free & Easy for Dogs contains quality amounts of gluclosamine and chondroitin to ensure a quality product.  Free & Easy has many more ingredients which work synergistically to provide long term relief for your pet.
